My Visa interview experience for undergraduate computer science with a scientific concentration
It is 1 year old, but it still might be relevant for some of you. I had my interview scheduled for May 4 at 9 p.m.I reached the US Embassy in Kathmandu at around 8:30 p.m.I entered inside, and it was similar to people staying on the bank. I had my biometrics done, and then I found myself closer to the interviewer. Three windows were open, and I was expecting to be on the window with the bald guy with the long beard; however, I had to go to window number 9, who had rejected the person in front of me in about a minute. I went near the window with the smile, which was barely visible from the mask. The interview went like this:
Good morning, sir.
Vo: Good morning with a smile. Pass me your documents.
Vo: What is your name? He was looking at my documents on his screen.
Me: My name is Subin. I tried to maintain eye contact with him.
VO: Where are you going?
Me: Southeastern Louisiana University, which is in Hammond, Louisiana.
VO: Why this university?
me: With little pause, well, Selu has a STAR program and connect industry classes, which provide me research opportunities and also introduce me to real-life computer science problems along with interaction with people from various software development companies. This program attracted me. Moreover, they have provided me with scholarships of 16,100, which are renewable, and this university offers courses like computer vision and computer architecture, which help me make my dream project. It also has a faculty ratio of 18:1, which means I can learn from professors who have expertise in data science and AI more closely.
VO: Congratulations. I am issuing you the visa. Enjoy your time in the United States.
So far, I am enjoying every moment I have lived here in Hammond while studying in Selu. Let me know if you have any questions. I am the social media manager at Selu, so if you have any questions, ask us at Selu_nsas on Instagram or use the link down below to visit our site.
